Who: trail users, community members and all who are interested in the long-term protection of the trail

Roles:

• trail maintenance
• trail captains
• establish a management committee
• community outreach
• hiking program
• trail inspections
• liaison with Property Owners, Land Managers, City of Pickering, Community Groups
• training of trail workers and hike leaders
• maintain mapping
• event planning
• fundraising
• communications with Friends members

Membership in the Oak Ridges Trail Association is requested for trail captains, hike leaders and management committee members, for liability/insurance reasons. In the future, the Friends may wish to establish themselves as an incorporated body, independent of any other trail organization.
